Wichita artists Josh Bethel and Kevin Hansen share in-your-face paintings at Art House 31 through May 24.

Both artists have individual works for sale, and they also present collaborative paintings made while taping their long-running Art Assault Podcast, which is available on YouTube. The pair take turns at a canvas during free-wheeling, roughly hourlong chats, which include the occasional guest.

Many of the paintings incorporate humor and an obvious affection for the absurd. The best of them belong in a rockabilly/hot-rod fantasyland.

Paintings, prints, and stickers by Hansen and Bethel (aka JRB5) are available for sale. Art House 310 gallery hours are 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 1-4 p.m. Sundays. See more images of work from the show on the gallery’s Instagram page.
