A long-dormant arts crowdfunding event is returning to Wichita on December 6. Hosted by Harvester Arts, ICT Soup brings community members together for a meal and funds a grassroots arts project at the same time.

Guests pay $10 for a soup lunch and hear pitches from artists while they dine. After voting on the best pitch, the cash pot is awarded as a prize. It really is that simple. No grant application or reporting. No fellowship or residency required. Just a gathering where neighbors invest in one another.

"ICT Soup began in 2016 with artist Amanda Pfister and ran through 2021," explained Kristin Beal, the executive director of Harvester Arts. "It has now returned as a quarterly program at Harvester Arts, serving as Wichita’s crowdfunded meal for artist projects."

The first event of the new series will take place from noon-2 p.m. Saturday December 6 at Harvester Arts, 120 E. 1st St. in Wichita. The quarterly meals are scheduled through September 5, 2026.
