Photos: Elsewhere Fest kicks off its first day with art, music in downtown Wichita
The inaugural event continues Saturday with conference panels, visual art, and 30 live bands and DJs

Friday was opening day for Elsewhere Fest. Read our story about the new two-day event, who is producing it, and what to expect. In advance of the festival, artists from Wichita and beyond descended on the roughly two-square-block area from Naftzger Park to Wave on St. Francis, and from Douglas Avenue to 2nd Street on Emporia, transforming it with murals, graffiti, and sculptural installations. Elsewhere continues Saturday with music on six stages. —Teri Mott
